Hair Treatment from the Kitchen

I permed my hair - twice this year. The first time, the curls lasted less than 1 week, so i went back to the hairdresser and demanded a re-do. He did, and this time the curls lasted longer but it still wasn’t very nice. Needless to say, i am not going back for the 3rd perm.

All this perming is taking its toll on my hair. It is now very dry and kinda brittle.

Unfortunately, I can neither spend the money nor time to nurse my hair back to health at the salon. But i found a really effective way to treat my hair - right from my kitchen.

Tada! Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Olive oil is loaded with tons of vitamins and it works better than any hair treatment cream that I have tried.

What I did was, wash and towel dry my hair. Then massage generous amount of Olive Oil into the hair, focusing on the ends and avoiding the scalp. After that, secure the hair using a clip and wrap a hot towel around it. Lastly, put on a shower cap to help retain the  heat longer.

I leave the “treatment” on for at least 30 minutes. Then i wash it off with a bit of shampoo.

Easy and cheap! But most importantly effective!

  2. Hehe, we are using the same olive oil. But only use for cooking, i am too lazy for the hair treatment. You are really creative.

My aunt once told me that she uses olive oil for crack nipple. Believe it or not.
