Many people go to Karaoke lounges to learn how to sing songs. Me, I can’t do that. Not for the mandarin songs at least. Because I can barely read mandarin. Coz i am a banana mah…Yellow (chinese) inside but white (english) outside.
Out of 10 mandarin characters, i can only recognize maybe 2 or 3 characters.
But I still love to listen and sing mandarin songs. So if I want to sing mandarin songs, I’ll have to practice them at home until I have the lyrics memorized by hard. So my family will have to tolerate me singing the same song over and over again. 
How do I know the lyrics if I can’t read? Well, during my younger days, i would painstakingly write the pinyin for my favorite Mandarin songs by PLAY. PAUSE. WRITE. PLAY. PAUSE. WRITE…. until my compo went cuckoo.
Now, it is very easy. Just go to websites like FitFit, and voila, the pinyin lyrics to my favorite mandarin songs are there for me to learn.
But how to find which song is which if I dunno how to read Mandarin woh….help!!
