Compared to Bryan, I am getting so much more sleep at night this time. I hardly nap during the day. Of course, it helps that I get to sleep in till past 9am/ 10am each day while Bryan will wake me up at 7am or so last time.
The main reason why I am getting more sleep - I am getting better at bfg.
The first few nights, I let Dylan sleep in the playpen. I hardly got any sleep as Dylan will stir and cry so frequently.
Then i took him to our bed and let him co-sleep with us. And ALL of us (me, hubb and Dylan) got more sleep. Dylan slept better, less tossing around, less noise, less “fright” though he was not swaddled at all.
And when he wakes up for a feed, i just have to offer a bre*st to him, and once he latches on, I will drift off to sleep. In fact, i am getting so good at this, i can feed from both sides while lying on one side. So I usually never fully awakes for his night feeds.
So if you asked me how often does Dylan wakes up….I would have no answer. He gets his feeds as often as he needs, and I get my sleep.
I only wakes up fully when he needs a diaper change… poo business la, what else. Sometimes hubb helps out with that when i am too tired to get up. But luckily it is getting less frequent now compared to when he was a newborn.
Now, who says bfg mothers will get no sleep?
Only disadvantage? I think i am turning into a human pacifier for him, since i have no idea how long he latches on… But then who cares, cause he may be the last baby I am going to have, pamper him a bit la.
