With the rising living costs, my friends and I try to eat in our company cafeteria more often rather than driving out to lunch. Food in our cafeteria is subsidized by the company so it is cheaper than outside. Sommo save on petrol and parking costs.
Anyway, initially my fren and I planned to dine in-house. Then we thought about Char Koay Teow and how long it has been since we had a good serving of one. So we decided to go out. My friend is driving, and since I am only having CKT, I thought I will not need a lot of money.
So I just took my small purse which have less than RM10 inside, my IC, HP – dump all into my wristlet and leave the office. On the way out, I stopped by the cafeteria to pick up some free fruits (use my meal subsidy for the day mah). I noticed that our office store is open and I need to buy something there. It cost me RM6 and I figured that it is ok as I can always borrow $$ from my fren.
When I met my fren, I told her if she mind paying lunch for me as I only have a few ringgit left. She said ok, but her purse also only have RM8, but she think she got sommo cash in the car. So we left. Eventhough there is an ATM in our cafeteria, we diden bother to go withdraw money.
We went to a coffee shop very near to our office, but the CKT stall is closed. So we changed venue to another place, also quite near to office. But then their CKT not very good, ok nia. So I suggested going to another place, which is much further from our office but they have more variety of food there and good CKT.
Reaching there, only my friend realized there were not much cash in the car…coins ada la..
And I checked my purse, I don’t have ringgitsss there. Only RM1.50. So total combined $$ we had was RM9.50. U say chia lat boh!
So we can only have 2 plates of CKT (RM3 each, cannot order duck egg one) + 2 drinks (RM2.60).
We sat right next to a chicken/ duck rice stall which also have chai-boey.
Wanna order chai boey – cannot, boh lui.
Wanna order pasembur to share – cannot, not enuf money.
Wanna tah pau kuih back for tea later – cannot, need to save the coins for parking fees.
Coming back, my friend and I were laughing over our situation. So broke liao still dares to drive here and there to eat. Really boh kia si.
Aiyo, you brave la. I cannot go out without RM50 in my bag. Kiasi later no petrol la, police block la, got to eat la and etc. I salute you. LOL!
Shooi: actually hor, really got police block on the way there.
By the way ATM in the cafe is out of order. Better stay in and eat, only spend RM1.20.
Shooi: We miss CKT ma…wat to do…
Luckily the food back home doesn’t have to factor in tax and tips. Imagine here..have to calculate to the cents just to make sure we have enough to eat out..hahaha..lagi jialat!
Shooi: kakakaka…cannot imagine how tricky it will be with tax + tips.
Shooi, there was once i drove out to tapau breakfast. Mana tau, forgot to bring money also. so hutang first, kekeke…….
Shooi: Luckily can hutang, if not have to wash dishes,…hehe
This is so funny! And I think I know which CKT stall you’re talking about…slurps, slurps. They add duck eggs too? How would it taste? I’ve never eaten duck eggs before (are salted eggs duck eggs?)
Shooi: You must try CKT with duck eggs. They taste so much better. Yes, most salted eggs are duck eggs. But got chicken egg oso. The bigger ones are duck.
U know what? i got scolded by hubby like mad loh :p
