Wedding video

During our wedding, hubb and I decided not to employ video services.

We decided not to because most of the wedding videos that we have seen of our relatives are usually very ‘pretentious.’ The cameraman will usually ask the couple & the family members to pose a certain direction or do certain thing so that he could record it in the video. When they know that they are being videoed, people are usually quite uncomfortable and they appear very awkward.

Hubb and I find that it is a waste of money to employ such services. Instead, we borrowed my aunt’s camcorder and asked our friends to help record the events on our wedding day. It is more natural as we do not have anyone directing us on how to behave/ pose.

I remember one of the wedding videos I watched. The camera man actually asked the bride to show the all the new clothes she had hanging in her cupboard. These include all the bridal lingerie in her cupboard. Aiyooo…If I were her, I would find that scene terribly embarrassing.

  1. I expect you didn’t like every photographer either? That’s because there are so many styles and often cheaper prices are reflected in poor results. We’ve worked with some embarrassingly awful photographers too, but for some reason people who dislike a particular wedding video assume there are no good ones around but they keep on looking for a ‘good’ photographer!

I know of several excellent videography companies - all different styles - but I’ve never seen a ‘home movie’ that I could bear to watch twice, or one that I could hear the vows and speeches. Bet you have no front view of you and your husband making your vows?

We try to shoot from a distance but sometimes we are asked to re-create a certain shot that the bride and groom have seen before - perhaps the bride with the wardrobe display had decided she was happy with it in her film.

Memories fade because it is a physical impossibility for the human brain to retain hundreds of perfect moments from one single day - fact.

Never written a comment before but … !
